but an awful lot of middle class americans are still not feeling the effects of this recovery. since the year , gross domestic product-our gdp - has risen by 25%. and productivity in america is up by 30%. but middle class wages during that same time period have gone up by only fourteen cents.
folks, it's long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. that's what built the middle class. it's time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.
you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.

《清稗类钞·敬信类》中记载了这样一个故事：一个叫蔡嶙的人向一位朋友借了一千两黄金，没打借条。不多年，朋友去世了，他就把朋友的儿子叫到家，把一千两黄金还给他。但朋友的儿子很惊愕，坚决不受，笑道：没有这回事，父亲没有留给我借条，也没有口头告诉我有这事。蔡嶙说：借条就在我心里，不在纸上，心中的诚信才是根本，你父亲明白我是个讲诚信的人，才没有告诉你。他如此相信我，我又岂能失信呢最后还是把黄金还给了他。该故事发人深思之处在于蔡嶙所言，借条、契约、合同等外在的法律性约束固然很重要，但人心中的诚信更重要。如果一个人没有诚信，没有道德上的慎独自律，就可能去钻外在的、法律的空子，甚至为了一己私利而置法律义务于不顾。
人们对道德规范的敬重，人们心目中的诚信、道德人格和做人的尊严，就是人们的道德信仰。道德是一种实践理性，它要解决的是我就应怎样做的问题。我就应怎样做包括两个方面：一是我就应怎样做事二是我就应怎样做人二者不可分割，后者比前者更根本，且要透过前者表现出来。道德信仰涉及这两个方面，但其核心是第二个方面。道德信仰是对道德理想目标的确认和笃信，是对怎样做人的设定，是对理想人格的设定。道德信仰以人格来证明或显示人性的神圣和尊严，显示人的价值。一种道德信仰的确立，代表着一个道德价值体系的构成，又是对人们的道德认知、道德情感、道德意志、道德人格、道德观念、道德动机的整合，从而将人们的各种关于道德的零散的信念和价值观念统一齐来，构成一个高低有序的道德价值观系统，成为规范一个人全部人生活动和行为选取的基本框架。整合一旦完成，作为一个价值系统整体，道德信仰又对道德生活的各个方面发挥重要的作用。
在中国传统文化中，诚十分接近道德信仰。孟子说：诚者天之道也，思诚者人之道也。至诚而不动者，未之有也，不诚未有能动者也。孟子所说的诚是真实无欺的意思。天是真实无欺的，人也就应追求真实无欺。到达至诚就能使人感动，达不到至诚就不能使人感动。荀子也重视诚，认为诚是所有德行的基础。他说：君子养心莫善于诚，致诚则无它事矣。把诚当作最重要的道德观念的是《中庸》。《中庸》说：诚者，天之道也;诚之者，人之道也。诚者，不勉而中，不思而得，从容中道，圣人也。诚之者，择善而固执之者也。可见，至诚是一种尽性知天并到达天人合一的崇高境界。这是中国特色的道德信仰，它不依靠宗教，不透过神学，而从人性与天性、人道与天道的合一，从相信人性善并透过尽性知天的途径，到达天人合一的理想的人生境界。
令人遗憾的是，在现实生活中，一些人经不起利益的诱惑，做出了很多伤天害理之事。出现这类现象的原因尽管是多方面的，但缺乏道德信仰是其中最普遍的原因。当前，在认真贯彻《公民道德建设实施纲要》中，在加强诚信教育中，我们应高度重视道德信仰的重要性。
it is true that most of us value honesty highly. however, nowadays we often confront confidence crisis such as cheating, overcharging, fake commodities and so on. i think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. the reasons can be listed as follows.firstly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.

responsbility can be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their baby.for teachers,both in kindergartens and colleges,they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students,that is to say,teahers are the second parents of children somewhile.
for us,as a friend of others,it is our responsibility to help our friends when they are in trouble or faced with difficulties. each one has the different responsibily based on their roles but we must take it for granted that we are responsible for the society.
everyone has a dream. everyone's dream is different. perhaps we are keen to fly, their ability to be able to rely on an out of the sky. perhaps we are keen to dance in this short life left in fond memories.our life only once, we should cherish it. machine was no longer in your life do you want to do. although we are still students, are studying, but we should be ahead of our future planning to do. you asked his high school what to do after graduation? do you have to ask ourselves, what is the dream? do you know what to do and learn? from that moment on, you ask yourself well. since then, you may struggle with the goal, maybe you have from this program, maybe you should know how to cherish life. in that case, you will not waste his life !
