随着地球资源的渐渐减少，呼吁环保的呼声日益增多。但是仍有大部分的人类肆意的破坏着生态平衡。有人高呼环保，背地里却干着见不的人的勾当；有的厂家对外宣称“合理排行污水”，却把江河当做污水排放厂······随着人类社会的高度发展，人类已进入了空前的文明时代，但我们面前的却是乌黑发臭的河水，成片的沙漠，光秃的土坡，作为90后的我们，应该把环保做的更好。
白色污染
伴随着人类生活文明的进步，白色污染日愈严重起来。塑料袋，塑料包装等虽是我们日常生活中必不可少的东西，它价格便宜，质轻，耐用，防水的几大特点被人们所看好。在中国的市场极大，我国也是世界上十大塑料制品生产和消费国之一。但处理这些东西比想象中难得多。一般塑料垃圾在自然界“停留”的时间可达200~500年。所以对于塑料类制品我们要抵制使用。
汞污染
汞是唯一在常温下呈液体的金属元素。俗称“朱砂”。汞可溶于水，空气中。它巨大的毒性令人谈之色变。它主要来源于电池等物品。据统计1970~1979年全世界直接向水体排放的汞总量达1.6万吨！排向大气的汞量也达10万吨。当水中或空气中的汞浓度过高时，会导致树木枯死，人类患上因汞摄入过高引发的病症，如日本南部九州湾有一个叫水俣的小镇，这里居住着4万居民，以渔业为生。1939年开始，日本氮肥公司的合成醋酸厂开始生产氯乙烯，工厂的生产废水一直排放入水误湾。该公司在生产氯乙烯和醋酸乙烯时，使用了含汞的催化剂，使废水中含有大量的汞。这种汞在水体中，被水中的鱼食用，在鱼体内转化成有毒的甲基汞。人食用鱼后，汞在人体内聚集从而产生一种怪病：患者开始时，只是口齿不清，步履蹒跚，继而面部痴呆，全身麻木，耳聋眼瞎，最后变成神经失常，直至躬身狂叫而死。1972年据环境厅统计，水误镇共患水误病180人，死亡50多人，就在新线县阿赫野川亦发现100多水误病患者，8人死亡。据报到，患者人数远不止此，仅水误镇的受害居民，即达万余人。
环保事业说大很大，说小很小。往大的说，可以造成成片的水域污染。往小了说，只要我们每人从身边的小事做起，人人环保低碳，环保事业也可以是一件很小的事。如果我们少用些塑料袋，少乱丢些垃圾，那么这个世界上便会少些随风飘舞的白，多些生机勃勃的绿；也会少些乌黑肮脏的河，多些碧蓝清澈的湖······

保护环境，从我们身边做起！
近日，欧洲空间局发射升空的地球环境监测卫星传回首批数据照片。科学家计划，不久将根据地球环境监测卫星传回的资料出版地球环境月度报告。
经过欧洲14国十多年的共同努力，欧洲巨型地球环境监测卫星“恩维萨特”于2002年3月1日被送入太空。
“恩维萨特”卫星被科学家戏称为巨型“环境间谍”，是以阿斯特利乌姆航天公司为首的欧洲50多家公司联合制造完成的，重量为8111公斤，展开宽度26米，卫星运行在距地面800公里的太阳同步轨道，每100分钟环绕地球一周，卫星携带的仪器对地球进行观测，周期为35天，使用寿命为5年，其造价、发射费用及5年运转费用为24亿欧元，是欧洲空间局生产的最大、最昂贵、最先进的地球环境观测卫星，也是目前世界上惟一一颗准实时向地面传送观测数据的观测卫星。
该环境监测卫星具有两大功能：一是普查地球资源；二是监测地球环境。欧洲空间局一支450人的科研队伍将根据卫星传回的资料评估人类活动对环境的影响，其中两大研究课题是臭氧层破坏和环境污染。该卫星的使用大大丰富了环境和气候变化的科学数据，能帮助科学家观测地球变暖、臭氧减少、海洋变化和冰层、植被消亡等现象，研究地表荒漠、火山爆发、洪水与厄尔尼诺等形成的原因，以及监控地球污染状况，并传回地球生态系统间相互作用的相关数据，找到地表污染源与污染原因。
德国政府发布的新闻公告表示，由于“恩维萨特”环境卫星配备先进的探测分析仪器，传回的数据将比目前所有同类卫星更精确，“达到其他卫星无法达到的质量”，因此它将有助于监督旨在控制全球变暖的《京都议定书》的执行情况。
白色污染成为我们的心头大患。人们正在全力阻止这严重的局面，用布袋购物，可是又能改变些什么呢?“早知如此，何必当初”?人们啊，赶快醒来吧，保护环境，减少白色污染，人人有责!
土地沙漠化也逐渐登上了舞台。人们无休止的开垦反而产生了副作用。土地不再适应种植，人们又来开垦，这时，被废弃的土地也就成了半沙漠化的土地，沙漠何愁不能发展呢?
