the little prince, the pilot, the rose, the fox, the snake, etc.

despite i’ve not in my childhood yet, i still prefer reading fairy-talestories. the tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me thinkof some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. thissummer i’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. it’s theworld-famous fairy-tale by the french author, antoine de st-exupery, the littleprince.

as many other fairy-talethe outline of the little prince is not verycomplex. “i”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has somethingwrong and lands in the sahara. in this occasion, the pilot makes theacquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, theasteroid b612. the little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because hehas some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. in that case he lefthis own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

on his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds ofpeople, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, alamplighter and a geographer. from these people he gets a conclusion that thegrown-ups are very odd. following the instruction of the geographer, he descendsin the sahara, on the earth.

traveling onthe earth, the little prince, who sees a garden offive-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considershis rose is unique in the universe before. at that time a fox appears. the fox,who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his newfriend. at the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose isunique because she is his rose and tamed by him. from that the little princebegins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.

in summer of 20xx, public officials in our province of saskatchewan issued a decree: that allaffected people leave their homes and in mass exodus, travel to places of refuge where theycould be safe and accounted for.

they were escaping blazing forest fires of epic proportions.

it was the largest evacuation in saskatchewan history.

thousands of people were on the move, all of them in uncertain circumstances, not knowinghow quickly they would return home.

for a few young women, these circumstances had an added dimension of uncertainty. theywere in the late stages of pregnancy.

these young women were living as displaced persons far from home, without the supplies theyhad gathered for their new baby.

thankfully, for all concerned, healthy babies were delivered in hospitals close by with medicalstaff to give assistance.

we are privileged to live in a province where people come together. that can be difficult whenstress levels are high.

and so i salute the evacuees, and the firefighters, and the troops, and the red cross, and thelocal officials, the mayors and chiefs.

those who shared money, food and supplies, those who prayed for an ending to this situation.all rose to the occasion.

two thousand years ago, a public official named caesar augustus issued a decree that all peopleneeded to be accounted for. it affected the entire roman world. everyone needed to beregistered.

many people were on the move, with primitive travel arrangements, not knowing how long thiswould take.

i'm sure for some young women, this circumstance had an added dimension of uncertainty.like being in the late stages of pregnancy.

for one of these young women, the time came to have her baby, her first. not in a local hospitalalong the way, not even in a clean, comfortable holiday inn, but in a stable, with precious fewamenities.

her only assistant, a most likely very, very nervous husband, with perhaps some curiousanimals looking on.

she didn't have much for supplies either. all she had were a few strips of cloth to wrap him in.and all she could lay him in was not a cradle made by her carpenter husband, but just asimple, dirty manger.

crude surroundings for a king. his first visitors – an adoring group in from the fields smellingstrongly of sheep. they were alerted by a type of atmospheric media unlike any we couldimagine.

all rose to the occasion.

this christmas, we celebrate the arrival of that very special baby boy. the "divinest heart thatever walked the earth was born on that day" as it has been said.

his name is jesus, the essence of hope and peace and the ultimate example of self-sacrificefor love.

so from me and my wife tami, and our family, and on behalf of my colleagues in thegovernment of saskatchewan: "may you have the gladness of christmas which is hope; thespirit of christmas which is peace; and the heart of christmas which is love."

and may you spread joy to others who need it most. merry christmas and a happy new year!

many people, especially young college students, like pop songs. they hum small tunes all the way to their schools and seem to be never tired of this. some of them are even mad about pop songs, rock'n'roll in particular. they shout and shout until their voices become hoarse.

others will submerge themselves in the romance of the love songs, with tears streaming down their cheeks. despite such popularity of the pop songs, however, some people dismiss such kind of songs as crude and worthless. they hold that these songs are easy to sing and they are usually characterized with simple tunes which lack variety and depth. based upon this, they say that pop songs should not have gained such popularity. whereas many others stick to pop songs. their lives seem to ha dull without songs.

in my point of view, pop songs should not be banned. true, their tunes are simple and sometimes repetitious, but this is not to say that they are of no artistic value. folk songs are also quite simple in tune but no one could dismiss them as trash songs. there is no denying that some pop songs are equally excellent. why? because they are widely sung and widely remembered. for example, "yesterday" is of high artistic value. no one can deny its beautifulness in tune. of com-se, there are bad songs that will not last long, but pop song fans will give these songs their due by choosing to sing them or not.

it is definitely right that programming is a hard work because of its special characteristics---complicated, time-wasted, logical. to make a program needs our continual patient and confidence, and we should accept failure again and again in most cases. but once you go into further understanding of computer programs, you will be surprised at the programssquo; wander. in detail, through programming a heap of date or a computing model can be easily solved we expected, such as a number wanted, or the modelsquo;s parameters. the magical power of program appeals to all the programmers, certainly including me.

it is of great convenience for us to simplify or model our complex questions by programming. furthermore, studying and using programs can enforce us to form our ability of analyzing and logic. computer language has its regular grammar. how to organize the language into a reasonable calculating method in a high efficiency like speaking easy-understanding and breath-saving words, is an awful challenge for us, and it will be very funny.

now, software is more and more important in our life, therefore programmer becomes a popular profession, which is one urgent need in the society. for our country, itsquo;s very important to ensure our national security from others, such as japan. enhancing military strength makes us pay more attention to the informationalized war that attached intensely to the fundamental function of program and software. it is truth that china has a huge population of 1.4 billion, which means messy things from all the people every day. also, to govern the society orderly all benefit from information composed by programs.

take a more closer example, in the classroom, we are graduate students of engineering, and will be occupied in researching and designing work. thus, not only is programming our tool in study, but also become a weapon that promoting science and technology and producing invention and innovation.

i love programming, because of its powerful function. i love programming, because of its abundant application.

i love programming, because of its terrible challenge.

i love programming, but i am not intend to be an outstanding programmer, nor making a great researching achievement. i just want to know it and do what i want with it.

i hope you firstly remove the horrible psychology upon programming, and then try to get in touch with it. at last, i hope programming gives you much happiness in life!
